Fireworks Restriction Map

An updated map was approved, which prohibits fireworks in specific areas throughout the city. Some areas in which fireworks were previously allowed are prohibited this year. The updated map can be found at herriman.gov/fireworks. The map is re-evaluated each year in coordination with the Unified Fire Authority, Herriman Police Department, and City leadership and with consideration to drought conditions and recent subdivision development.
Herriman Boulevard Extension

A construction management contract was approved for the Herriman Boulevard Extension project. The agreement covers inspection, testing, documentation, and other oversight required by UDOT. All road work and construction management will be covered by UDOT funding rather than Herriman City money.
Community Grants

The City Council awarded grant funds to a handful of community organizations who applied in recent months for this year's grant program. Recipients include the Friends of Herriman ($90,500), South Valley Performing Arts ($7,500), and the KMS Foundation ($7,500).

Capital Improvement Plan

City staff reviewed the proposed Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal years 2027 through 2036. The plan outlines long-term capital needs, with only fiscal years 2027 and 2028 proposed for funding in the upcoming biennial budget and later years included for planning purposes. The budget will be finalized in a couple of months.
