Herriman City Justice Court

Mission

Courthouse rules:

No weapons. Security is not allowed to hold these items for you. Please leave them at home or in your vehicle. This restriction applies to individuals with concealed carry permits.

Proper dress is required. No shorts, hats, tank-tops, halter-tops, miniskirts or clothing with inappropriate pictures or words. You may be asked to reschedule your hearing if you are not properly dressed.

Cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off. Cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off while you conduct your business with the court. Security may confiscate these items if they are disrupting proceedings or are being used to record without authorization.

No photography or recording allowed. Photography and personal recordings of proceedings are only allowed upon written prior approval from the justice court judge.

Small children. Children are allowed in the courtroom. Please remove them if they become disruptive. If your child disrupts the courtroom, you may be asked to leave and reschedule your appointment.

Fingerprints:

Please be aware that you will need to contact the Herriman Justice Court at 801-446-5323 to schedule an appointment to complete your fingerprints. Once you have scheduled an appointment, you will need to report to the court on the second floor of the city hall (5355 West Herriman Main Street, Room 2100).

Domestic Violence:

Per Utah Code of Criminal Procedure 77-36-2.6, an alleged perpetrator who is charged by citation, indictment, or information with an offense involving domestic violence but has not been arrested, shall appear before the court in person for arraignment or initial appearance as soon as practicable, but no later than 14 days after the next day on which court is in session following the issuance of the citation or the filing of the indictment or information. At the time of an appearance under Subsection (1) or (2), the court shall consider imposing a pretrial protective order in accordance with Section 78B-7-803. Appearances required by this section are mandatory and may not be waived.
