Public notices provide updates on public hearings, funding programs, expression of interest, public awareness announcements and other important information regarding Herriman City.

City Council Public Hearings




Planning Commission Public Hearings

Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.: The Planning Commission will review the following agenda items:

  • Review and consider a recommendation to amend Chapter 10-34 of the Herriman City Code to (1) standardize the maximum height of an accessory structure on 10,001 - 21,789 square foot lots at 20 feet regardless of the structure's "footprint" or square footage, (2) standardize the maximum height of an accessory structure on lots that contain more than 1/2-acre at 25 feet regardless of the structure's "footprint" or square footage, (3) reduce the minimum rear and side yard setback requirement of accessory structures when adjacent to public open space to 3 feet, and (4) expand enforcement remedies in Chapter 10-7 of Herriman City Code to include building height deviations no greater than 10% when substantial construction has been undertaken in good faith and subject to City approval.

Recently Approved Ordinances

2025-04: Amendment to the Herriman City Official Zoning Map for 1.8 acres of property located at approximately 6228 W. 13400 S. from A-1-43 (Agricultural Single Family) to A-1-10 (Agricultural Single Family).

2025-03: Amendment to the General Plan Future Land Use Map for 9.77 acres of property located at approximately 6228 W. 13400 S. from Hillside and Agricultural Residential to Neighborhood One.




Surplus Items

Vehicles and equipment will be disposed of in a manner that will maximize resale value and minimize surplus time.  As vehicles and equipment are approved for surplus, value will be established.  Herriman City will then post the surplus vehicles or equipment for sale.  Bids are then submitted in a closed bid form. Generally, bids will be awarded to the highest bid and to get the best return for the City.  All vehicles and equipment are sold in an “as is” “where is” “it is” in all respects without any warranty of any kind.

Notice of Special Election

Herriman City will hold a non-partisan special election on November 4, 2025, to fill a 2-year vacancy for Herriman City Council District 4 position. Candidate filing period begins June 2, 2025 during regular business hours and ends on June 6, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Declaration of Candidacy Forms or Nomination Petitions must be filed in person with the City Recorder at 5355 West Herriman Main Street, Herriman, Utah.

City Councilmember Steven Shields announces resignation; Herriman City invites interested residents who reside within Council District 4 to submit applications

Herriman City announces the resignation of Councilmember Steven Shields, who is moving out of the city. Herriman City sincerely thanks Councilmember Shields for his service and wishes him the best of luck in his new adventure.

Pursuant to Utah Code §10-3-301 and 20A-1-510, the City Counciil will temporarily fill the vacancy by appointing a qualified individual who resides within Council District 4. The Council seat will be filled through an appointment process to serve the remainder of calendar year 2025. Following the appointment, the candidate elected in a special election held on November 4, 2025, will serve the remainder of Councilmember Shields' term, which ends in December 2027.

Herriman City intends to prepare amendment to the Impact Fee Facilities Plan and Impact Fee Analysis for Public Safety and Fire/EMS Services. The proposed amendments include the current City boundaries, and the areas anticipated to be annexed to the west over the next ten years.
