Self Storage Access Gate

Updates from boards and organizations where City Councilmembers represent the City
- Herriman City Youth Council: Most of the 38-member Youth Council attended its kickoff retreat. Members expressed excitement about serving at City events and learning about local government.
- Jordan Basin Improvement District Board: The district continues work on infrastructure projects serving the South Hills and South Mountain areas.
- South Valley Chamber of Commerce: The board discussed the expected economic impact of next year’s Salt Lake Temple public open house, including opportunities for local hotels and businesses. Several million visitors are anticipated in downtown Salt Lake City.
Other City Council Comments
The Mayor noted that the Salt Lake County Council approved parameters for a recreation bond that will go before voters in November. The proposed bond includes $10 million for the Southwest Athletic Complex in northern Herriman.

Field Rental Policy

Community Center Rentals

Transit Update
Utah Transit Authority representatives reviewed transit service in Herriman, reporting strong demand for UTA On Demand and ridership below the agency’s target for the newer Route 126 bus service. The discussion covered On Demand capacity and wait times, potential service expansion, and grant opportunities to improve availability and bus frequency. Council members also emphasized promoting existing transit options and improving residents’ connections to the regional transit system.
