Cody Stromberg Named as Chief of Police
Herriman City names Cody Stromberg as Chief of Police
HERRIMAN— Herriman City has named Cody Stromberg as its Chief of Police following approval by the City Council at its Wednesday evening meeting. Stromberg previously served as the Herriman City Police Department’s deputy chief and interim chief following the retirement of former Chief Troy Carr.
Stromberg was one of the original four members of the Herriman City Police Department when it was formed in 2018. He has lived in Herriman for more than 25 years and has spent most of his law enforcement career serving the Herriman community.
A ceremonial swearing-in will be held at the next City Council meeting on May 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Herriman City Hall (5355 W. Main Street).
Chief Cody Stromberg:
“I am deeply humbled by the trust placed in me by City Manager Cherpeski and our Mayor and City Council to lead this amazing organization. When we embarked on this journey nearly 8 years ago, Chief Carr had a vision for what this department could become. I think it’s safe to say we achieved what we set out to do and built a police department that the residents and the department members are proud of. Now we look to the future, and our challenge is to continue to improve our community engagement, preserve our great employee culture, and maintain focus on community-centered and data-driven solutions to the ever-changing landscape of public safety. Leading the men and women of the Herriman City Police Department is the honor of a lifetime and one that I will work every day to be worthy of.”
City Manager Nathan Cherpeski:
“Chief Stromberg has been instrumental in the development of the Herriman City Police Department from its first days. He understands this community, he understands the organization, and he has earned the confidence of those who work with him. His leadership will help the department continue building on a strong foundation of professionalism, accountability, and service.”
Mayor Lorin Palmer:
“Chief Stromberg knows Herriman not only as a sworn law enforcement officer, but as a longtime resident, volunteer, and community member. That perspective matters. He understands the people this department serves and the importance of maintaining the trust that H.P.D. has built over the past eight years.”
