New Trans-Jordan Waste Transfer Station Opens in Sandy

A new Trans-Jordan Cities waste transfer station has opened in Sandy, providing another option for residents to dispose of household waste and recyclables. The facility features a fully paved surface, which may be more convenient for those who prefer to avoid rough or unpaved areas at other disposal sites.

Located near 8800 South and 700 West in Sandy, the transfer station was built to serve communities in the central and eastern Salt Lake Valley. It includes designated areas for waste and recycling drop-off and is operated by the same organization that manages the Trans-Jordan Landfill.

For most Herriman City residents, the Trans-Jordan Landfill in South Jordan remains the closest and most direct option. However, those who prefer paved access or are already traveling through the Sandy area may find the new transfer station to be a convenient alternative.
