Wide Hollow Trailhead Officially Opens

Herriman City recently celebrated the opening of the Wide Hollow Trailhead with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by community partners, project supporters, and local leaders. Located near 6602 W Wide Hollow Drive, the new trailhead provides improved access to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and expands recreational opportunities in Herriman’s southern hills.

The project includes parking for approximately 70 vehicles, an on-site restroom facility, and connections to the surrounding trail network. One of the trailhead’s most popular features is the new Herriman Incline, a staircase consisting of 234 timber steps that climb approximately 160 vertical feet. Since opening, the incline has quickly become a destination for residents looking for a challenging workout and scenic views.

The Wide Hollow Trailhead is the result of years of planning and collaboration. Herriman City extends its appreciation to Salt Lake County, whose grant funding helped make the project possible. The new facility will help improve trail access, reduce congestion at other trailheads, and provide another way for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors in Herriman.
