Juniper Canyon
Upon completion, the Juniper Canyon recreation area will feature 72 acres of open space, connecting the residential, commercial, and educational areas from the east side of Mountain View Corridor to the Herriman hills trail system and open space west of Juniper Crest Road. The designs of each phase are finalized and built as funding allows.
The first phase, a trailhead on the eastern side, was completed in fall 2022. Learn more about this trailhead and view additional conceptual designs for future phases of the overall project below:

Phase 1: The East Trailhead
Completed November 2022
The Juniper Canyon East Trailhead is located at 4094 West Autumn Spring Drive. The park has water-efficient landscaping surrounding the bicycle playground and in the park strips. The adjacent detention basin is landscaped with a drought-tolerant grass seed mix. This area includes the following amenities:
- Bicycle playground (called the Pit)
- Pump track
- Bike rack
- Bike repair station
- Restrooms
- Kiosk trail map sign
- Parking lot
- Benches
- Picnic tables
- Pavilion
- Drinking fountain
- Paved trail

Phase 3: The West Trailhead and Bike Jump Park
Anticipated completion: Fall 2026
- New western trailhead: Located along Juniper Trail Drive, the trailhead will provide another access to Juniper Canyon. The design includes a restroom facility, 30+ parking stalls, benches, and a pavilion.
- Progression-based bicycle jump park: Located near the new western trailhead, the jump park will feature elements suitable for a range of skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders. The facility is being funded and constructed by the Friends of Herriman.
