Lost, Found, & Adoptable Animals

Found animals that remain unclaimed after five business days may become available for adoption.

Herriman City Animal Services promotes responsible pet ownership through education and enforcement. The unit provides consistent, reliable, and professional solutions for animal-related issues. Services include:

  • Pet licensing
  • 24/7 field operations and enforcement
  • Enforcement of animal-related City ordinances
  • Live trap loans, including animal removal
  • Community education, media, and outreach events
  • Shelter for lost and abandoned pets
  • Investigation of animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect
  • Response to emergencies involving injured or aggressive animals

No-Kill Shelter

Herriman City Animal Services operates under no-kill principles, recognizing each animal as an individual with a life worth saving. End-of-life decisions are considered acts of mercy rather than outcomes of convenience or limited space.

To uphold these values, the unit prioritizes healing treatable conditions, addressing correctable behaviors, ensuring safety, and increasing the number of animals placed in homes through adoption and related programs.
