Code Enforcement
Code Enforcement helps maintain a safe and desirable community by addressing health, safety, zoning, and exterior property maintenance concerns. The program is administered by the Community Services unit of the Herriman City Police Department and works to help residents comply with City code in a fair and impartial manner.
How Code Enforcement Works
Community Services officers proactively identify areas that may be out of compliance and also investigate reported concerns through personal contact, phone calls, and emails. This may include concerns related to health, safety, nuisances, housing, and zoning violations. Officers work with residents to help bring properties into compliance in a fair, impartial, and educational manner. What to Expect
When a potential issue is identified, a courtesy notice may be delivered or mailed to the resident to notify them that a violation has come to the City’s attention. It is the resident’s responsibility to correct the issue or contact Community Services for case review. Most cases are handled with the goal of voluntary compliance. When voluntary compliance is not achieved, civil fines or criminal penalties may apply.Code Enforcement Portal
Residents can use the portal to submit code enforcement concerns, review previous submissions, and access frequently asked questions.
