Identical Plan Reviews
Herriman City provides for Identical Plan Reviews. This program is used when multiple houses will be built using the same building plans. Under this program, the first plan submitted becomes the Main plan. Subsequent plans, which are identical to the Main plan, are reviewed as Identical plans.
The advantage of Identical plan reviews is a quicker plan review and lower plan review fees. The charge for the Main plan is 65% of the building permit fee, while the charge for the Identical plan review is 15% of the building permit fee. All other fees will remain the same.
The following restrictions apply:
Upon first review, corrections cannot be redlined onto the main plans. All corrections must be reprinted on the drawings.
- Approval stamps must be dated within the current code cycle. The Engineer of Record and Architect/Designer must provide lot-specific approval for each Identical plan.
- All options must be on the Main plan. Circle the options being built on that specific house. On Identical plan submissions, options that will not be built must be crossed out or removed from the plan set.
- Subsequent Identical plans and documents must have no structural differences and be substantially identical to the Main plan. Identical plans can be oriented differently.
Applicants must notify the Building Department when an Identical plan review is needed or when you are submitting a Main plan that will be used again for an Identical plan review later, as follows:
Requirements for Submitting a Main Plan or Identical Plan
On the application form in the "For All New Residential & Commercial Buildings" section is the subheading, "If this is an Identical Plan submission...", where you must do one of the following:
- If submitting a Main plan, enter the Plan Name (if any) and check the box for "Check if new Main Plan."
- If submitting an Identical plan, list the Permit Number of the Main plan and enter the Plan Name (if any).
If these are not listed on the application, plans will receive a regular review and be charged the regular plan review fee.
